The easiest and fastest way to reach the Catalan capital is by plane, as Barcelona has connections to 176 destinations. Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport is the second most important airport in Spain and is connected with various Spanish airports and numerous countries in Europe and other continents.
Barcelona Airport is the main point of entry for visitors to Catalonia. The Palau de Congressos de Catalunya is located just 15 minutes from the airport.
More than 41.6 million people have travelled through the airport, with more than 280,000 flights over the course of a year, including commercial, cargo and charter flights.
More than 80 airlines operate at Barcelona Airport, with flights to over 175 destinations.
It currently achieves up to 90 flights per hour, thanks to the expansion of the main runway and the construction and launch of the third runway in 2004.
There are car rental companies at each terminal.
Disabled people will find access points and bathrooms on all floors. An assistance service for people with reduced mobility is available at both departures and arrivals.
The airport offers two tourism offices, one on the ground floor of T1, next to the arrivals gate, and another at T2B, next to the ARS cafe. There you can collect the Barcelona Card and access other related services.
There are various taxi ranks in front of the areas for arrivals in terminal T1, for the Barcelona-Madrid Corridor, and at terminals T2A, T2B and T2C.

The airport is perfectly connected with the city of Barcelona via the C-31 Barcelona-Castelldefels highway, which also connects it to Avenida Diagonal, the Ronda de Dalt and the Ronda Litoral, and there is also the C-32 Barcelona-Sitges highway as well.
There is a direct bus connection from Barcelona to the airport, with dedicated air shuttles A1 and A1 to connect terminals 1 and 2, respectively, with Plaça de Catalunya. This is in addition to the other bus lines that connect Plaça d’Espanya to the airport, such as the TMB line 46, and various routes from the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, such as the N19 and the 99 to Castelldefels; the N17 and N18 to Plaça de Catalunya (Ronda Universitat); the PR1, PR2 and PR3 to Prat de Llobregat; and the L77 Sant Joan Despí - Gavà.
